Box Score PHOENIX – The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (1-7) fought hard but fell short in their first road match of the season against Grand Canyon University, 4-3 on Saturday at the GCU Tennis Facility.
The Antelopes won the doubles point by capturing wins on Courts No. 1 and 3 to take the early 1-0 lead.
UH's match was highlighted by its three singles wins. On the No. 2 court, Quinn Snyder continues to remain undefeated in singles play with a victory over Brice Patoux, 6-2, 7-5. Karl Collins gained his second win of the season against Antelopes' Matteo Lugari in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. In the last match, rookie Tianhao Hou took down Finbar McGarvey in three sets, 6-7. 6-4, 1-0 (10-4).
The 'Bows will have a quick turnaround and face Montana St. tomorrow at 7:00 A.M. HT at the GCU Tennis Facility.
