HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i and San Diego State have announced a home-and-home football series for the 2028 and 2029 seasons, continuing their longstanding series which began in 1939.
The teams will play Sept. 23, 2028 in San Diego, Calif., and Sept. 22, 2029 in Honolulu.
The longtime conference rivals have played 39 times, mostly as part of the Western Athletic Conference and Mountain West. The teams will meet this Saturday in Honolulu for the final time as Mountain West foes.
The Aztecs lead the all-time series 26-11-2. The teams met 19 consecutive seasons from 1980-98 as part of the WAC and 13 straight years in the MW.
