WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – University of Hawai'i placekicker Kansei Matsuzawa is among of group of 20 semifinalists for the 2025 Lou Groza Collegiate Award presented by the Orange Bowl.

The Tokyo, Japan native is having a record-breaking season, having already broke UH records for most field goals in a single-season (22) and consecutive field goals made (23). His story has been covered by numerous national American media outlets including CNN, ESPN, NBC Nightly News, The Athletic, The Sporting News, Wall Street Journal, and the Heisman Trophy along with several Japanese media.

The last UH kicker selected as a semifinalist was Matthew Shipley in both 2021 and '23. Jason Elam was a finalist in 1992.

The award is named for NFL Hall of Fame kicker Lou "The Toe" Groza, who played 21 seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Three finalists will be announced on November 25 and honored at the 34th annual Lou Groza Awards Banquet on December 8 in Palm Beach County.
