UH Beach Volleyball Signs Trio Of Players

HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine beach volleyball head coach Danny Alvarez announced his first signing class with three elite players who will join the program next fall. Making their way to Mānoa will be Ella Hughes, Delaney Singleton and Jada Souza.

Ella Hughes | 5-9 | San Diego | Point Loma HS | Wave Beach Volleyball
Played club volleyball with Wave Beach Volleyball….selected to the 2024 JVA Watch List…captured the 2023 AVP Juniors National Championship…runner-up at nearly a half dozen top tournaments, including the Super Girl Pro Invitational, the Honolulu Championship and the GNBV National Recruiting Showcase… also competed in golf and volleyball at Point Loma High School in San Diego, Calif.

Alvarez on Hughes: "Ella is an incredible player and athlete with Hawai'i ties. We are incredibly excited about her future and stoked to have her join us next fall."

Delaney Singleton | 5-9 | Phoenix, Ariz. | Sandra Day O'Connor HS | Stealth Beach
Played club volleyball with Stealth Beach…won a multitude of tournaments with partner Kate McDonald, highlighted by top finishes at the U16 Hermosa Beach National Championships and the U16 AAU Beach Volleyball National Championships…also won the 2025 BVCA Club vs. Club tournament and the GNBV National Recruiting Showcase Gold Final…played both varsity beach and indoor volleyball at Sandra Day O'Connor High School in Phoenix, Ariz…went 14-0 in beach volleyball as a sophomore in 2023-24…posted a 38-5 record in three varsity beach volleyball seasons with 460 kills in 85 sets played…won back-to-back AIA Division I beach volleyball state titles in 2024 and '25 with O'Connor.

Alvarez on Singleton: "We're super excited to add Delaney to our beach squad. She is the ultimate winner and we can't wait for her arrival in Manoa."

Jada Souza | 5-7 | Honolulu, Oahu | Outrigger Canoe Club
Achieved more than a dozen podium finishes while competing for Outrigger Canoe Club, coached by Danny Alvarez...claimed the top spot in the 2024 February GNVB College Showcase, the AAU U16 Super Regional Junior Olympics Qualifier, the AVP U16 Jr. Nationals Qualifier, and the  U16 Kauai Bikini Tournament…played two years of indoor volleyball at Maryknoll…earned the OC16 Impact Player Award and helped lead the Spartans to a third-place finish at the 2022 state tournament.

Alvarez on Souza: "To have one of the best players in the country in our own backyard decide to stay home and be a BeachBow is extremely impactful for our program and our state. We couldn't be happier to have Jada join our team."
