HONOLULU — With two weeks remaining in the regular season, the University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team takes a three-match winning streak to California for matchups with two of the top four teams in the Big West standings.
The Rainbow Wahine have won four of their last five and open the weekend at third-place UC Santa Barbara on Friday at 7 p.m. Pacific Time (5 p.m. Hawai'i Time) at the Thunderdome. They'll then head to San Luis Obispo to face second-place Cal Poly on Saturday at 6 p.m. PT (4 p.m. HT) at the Mott Athletics Center.
After sweeping last week's homestand, UH enters its final road trip of the regular season tied with CSUN for fifth in the conference race, a game ahead of UC Irvine in the chase for a berth in the six-team The Hawaiian Islands presents the 2025 Outrigger Big West Women's Volleyball Championship. The conference tournament is set for Nov. 26-29 in Long Beach, Calif.

OPENING SERVE
- UH middle blocker Bri Gunderson was named the Big West Defensive Player of the Week and sophomore Adrianna Arquette earned her second Setter of the Week award following last weekend's wins over CSUN and CSU Bakersfield.
- Gunderson leads the team and ranks third in the Big West with 1.16 blocks per set, Over the last five matches, Gunderson is averaging 3.39 kills per set while hitting .495 with 61 kills and eight errors. She's also averaging 1.33 blocks per set (24 total) over that span.
- Arquette has posted double-doubles in three of the last four matches and has nine this season, including two triple-doubles. She ranks fourth in the Big West with 8.68 assists per set.
- Outside hitter Cha'lei Reid posted double-figure kills in each of the last five matches and eight of the last nine. The freshman continues to lead the team in kills per set (3.40) and ranks third in the Big West with 4.24 points per set.
- Reid leads the conference with 39 aces and 0.45 per set. Her current total is the program's highest since Norene Iosia had 48 aces in 2019.
- As a team, the 'Bows rank first in the Big West with 153 total aces and 1.68 per set. They are on pace to post the highest average in a season since 2009 (1.70).
- Sophomore libero Victoria Leyva has posted double-figure digs in each of the last eight matches and has 19 such performances this season. She's posted 20-plus digs in seven matches this season and ranks fourth in the conference with 4.14 digs per set. Leyva also had a productive week from the service line with seven aces on the homestand.
- Sophomore middle blocker Miliana Sylvester leads the UH starters in Big West play with a .347 hitting percentage.
- UH senior Tyla Reese Mane put away at least nine kills in each of the last five matches and is averaging 2.89 kills per set over that stretch.
- Freshman defensive specialist Jaci Miyasaki has 48 digs (2.57 per set) and eight aces over the last five matches.

- UH is 19-7 on the road against the Gauchos. The 'Bows last won at the Thunderdome on Nov. 25, 2022 in five sets.
- UCSB leads the series 6-4 in the last 10 meetings going back to 2019.

- UH had won four consecutive meetings before Cal Poly's sweep (25-20, 25-14, 25-22) on Oct. 10 in Honolulu in this season's first meeting.
- UH defeated Cal Poly in four sets in last year's Big West Championship final in Irvine, Calif.
- UH is 14-4 on the road against the Mustangs. The 'Bows have won in their last two visits to the Mott Athletics Center since Cal Poly's four-set win on Oct. 15, 2022.
- Cal Poly entered the week at 21-5 overall and 12-2 in Big West play and with a 10-match winning streak, the longest active streak in the Big West.
- Cal Poly is 14-0 at home this season.
