LA JOLLA, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i men's and women's swim teams opened their 2025-26 campaigns with a strong showing at the Triton Invitational at the Canyonview Aquatics Center. Hawai'i earned multiple top-five finishes—including a pair of victories on Friday afternoon in La Jolla, Calif.
Senior Mario Surkovic secured UH's first individual win of the season, taking the 200 IM with a time of 1:47.44. Fellow senior Karol Ostrowski continued his dominance, capturing gold in the 50 free with a mark of 19.73, while Finn Brophy followed closely in fourth at 20.35.
The Rainbow Wahine 200 medley relay team of Alexa Ozment, Rebekka Luoto, Holly Nelson and Quincy Key earned bronze with a time of 1:40.04—the Rainbow Wahine's highest finish of the afternoon.
UH unofficially sits in second in both the combined and men's team standings, and fourth in the women's standings following day one of competition.
