SANTA BARBARA, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (8-9, 5-1 Big West) fell to 66^th-ranked UC Santa Barbara, 6-1 on Friday afternoon at the Arnhold Tennis Center. The Gauchos pulled away and handed the Rainbow Wahine their first conference loss of the season.
 
UCSB captured the doubles point for the early 1-0 lead. UH's No. 2 duo of Ana Vilcek and Nikola Homolkova defeated the Gauchos' Lucy Lu and Camille Kiss by a break, 6-4.
 
In singles, UH's No. 3 Homolkova led things off with a straight-set win over Kira Reuter, 6-1, 6-4. But it was all Gauchos after that. Hawai'i's No. 2 Nelly Knezkova won the second set against Camille Kiss, but fell short in the third frame, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 in the final match of the day.
 
The Rainbow Wahine will now head up the coast to take on Cal Poly on Sunday, April 7^th at 9:00 a.m. HT at the Mustang Tennis Complex in San Luis Obispo, Calif..
