Divers Close Out NCAA Zone E Championship

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The University of Hawai'i diving teams wrapped up competition in the NCAA Zone E Championships with the women's platform and men's 1-meter events on Wednesday at the Northern Arizona Aquatic and Tennis Complex in Flagstaff, Ariz.
 
UH senior Mackaby Pennington placed 19th in the 1-meter preliminaries with a score of 280.60, finishing one spot out of qualifying for the finals. Fellow senior Juan Gonzalez finished with a score of 260.50 to finish 28th.
 
Senior Elma Lund finished 20th among the 40 entrants in the women's platform preliminaries with a score of 212.55 to complete UH's stay in the three-day meet.
 
Pennington will extend his season into the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships set for March 27-30 in Indianapolis, Ind. He qualified for the NCAA meet with a seventh-place finish in the men's platform on Tuesday.
