HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (1-2) fell 4-0 to Washington on Saturday at the UH Tennis Complex. The Huskies swept UH in doubles and won the first three in singles for the sweep.

UW was dominant in doubles with Melissa Sakar and Dariya Detkovas defeating UH's Anna Kern and Hannah Galindo, 6-1 on the No. 3 court. The Huskies' No. 2 Sarah Fortin and Erika Matsuda followed by shutting out UH's Nikola Homolkova and Sheena Masuda, 6-0.

In singles, Washington won on courts 4, 6, 3. But the other three matches were halted with split sets and went unfinished. No. 1 Ana Vilcek and No. 2 Nelly Knezkova both won their first set while No. 5 Joëlle Lanz had fought her way back to win her second set to force a third before time ran out on the 'Bows.

The Rainbow Wahine now have a few weeks off before they embark on their first road trip of the season. Hawai'i will play three matches in San Diego starting on Feb. 12 in their conference opener ag UC San Diego. Following their match against the Tritons, UH will take on San Diego State on Feb. 14 and ending at San Diego on Feb. 16.
