Axel Labrunie earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District team for his efforts on the court and in the classroom in his final year at Hawai'i.
Labrunie, who recently received his bachelor's degree in finance and international business, was voted to the All-Big West Singles Second Team earlier this month after notching an 8-7 overall record while going 2-2 in conference. He finished the season strong winning three of his last four decisions primarily playing at No. 2. In doubles, Labrunie exceled with a team-best 13-4 record—going 12-4 with partner
Kilian Maitre.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Student-Athlets must carry at least a cumulative 3.50 GPA while playing in at least 50% of their team's matches.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced May 31.
