Antonlin Breaks Longtime School Record In 200-Meters

WALNUT, Calif. – University of Hawai'i sprinter Alyssa Mae Antolin broke a 39-year old school record in the 200-meter dash at the Mt. SAC Relays Saturday.

Antolin posted a time of 23.38 seconds, breaking the mark set by Gwen Loud (23.60) in 1984. It was her second 200-meter record of the season after setting a new mark during the indoor season. In addition, the Kīhei, Maui native posted a personal best in the 100-meters with a time of 11.62 seconds.

Several other Rainbow Wahine also set personal bests in the sprints. Amy Warrington posted her first sub-00:25 mark in the 200 at 24.90 and season-best 57.53 in the 400. Chadelle Gregory had two PRs in the 100 at 12.47 and qualified for Big West in the triple jump with a huge PR of 11.65.

Izzy Peterson was UH's top finisher in the 400 at 57.24.

Lilian Turban cleared the bar at 1.83m (6'0) for the first time in her career, setting a new personal record, while taking first place in the event.

The day after competing in the heptathlon, Sammie Gordon recorded a time of 61.96 in the 400 hurdles, her second-best time ever, while Catie Touchette PR'd and qualified for the Big West with 63.80.

In only her second pole vault meet ever, Ashley Babkirk recorded a personal-best 3.60-meters.

In the throws competition, all three shot putters posted personal bests – Rose Forshaw (13.94m), Hallee Mohr (13.53), and Lilian Turban (13.30), the latter of whom was a season-best.
