Divers Wrap Up Competition at NCAA Zone E Meet

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Both Hawai'i men's divers and one women's diver reached event finals on the last day of the NCAA Zone E meet Wednesday, but each came up short of advancing.
 
Mackaby Pennington and Juan Gonzalez both reached the platform diving finals, but couldn't make the top five in finals in order to advance to the NCAA Championships. Pennington led the way in 13th place with a total mark of 560.10 while Gonzalez came in 16th with a score of 547.00.
 
On the women's side, Isabelle Lombardi reached the finals of the 1-meter competition and finished in 18th place with an overall mark of 511.20.  
 
Next week, Hawai'i will send four Rainbow Wahine swimmers to the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, March 15-18 in Knoxville, Tenn.
