FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Hawai'i men's and women's diving wrapped up the opening day of competition at the NCAA Zone E diving meet Monday.
Both Rainbow Warrior divers advanced to the final of the 1-meter competition, but did not finish in the top seven needed to advance to the NCAA Championships.
Juan Gonzalez finished in 15th place with a total mark of 562.30 while
Mackaby Pennington came in 16th with a score of 560.55.
On the women's side, neither Rainbow Wahine diver was able to advance out of the preliminary rounds of the 3-meter competition.
Isabelle Lombardi placed 26th in the prelims with a mark of 247.10, while
Isabella Plantz finished in 27th with a 246.95.
Competition at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships continues Tuesday with the men's 3-meter event and the women's platform competition.
