Rainbow Roundup Nov. 21, 2022

"Rainbow Roundup" is a weekly video series hosted by Emily Cervantes, recapping the week of UH Athletics news with highlights and sound bites.

No place does Senior Night like Hawai'i, and we had two in two nights, plus some big wins for a handful of teams.
  • The Rainbow Wahine volleyball team extended their win streak to 10 with convincing victories over Cal Poly and CSU Bakersfield. On top of the wins, head coach Robyn ah Mow and crew said "aloha" to senior setter Mylana Byrd.
  • Warrior football is officially 2-0 against the state of Nevada with a 31-25 win over UNLV to regain the Island Showdown trophy. After the game, all the fans in attendance shared their love to the 2022 Senior Class of 24.
  • Records are meant to be broken as Rainbow Wahine swimming shattered two UH relay records in the SMU Invitational.
  • The fall season has come to an end as Rainbow Wahine tennis fell on the road at Stanford.
  • It's the ideal start for women's basketball at 0-4 as they dropped both games of the Bank of Hawai'i Classic to Florida Gulf Coast. But they have a shot at redemption with their annual Rainbow Wahine Showdown beginning on Friday.
  • The OUTRIGGER Rainbow Classic championships game was a slugfest between the Rainbow Warriors and Yale, but the first loss of the season came to the Bulldogs, 62-59. UH bounced back with a 79-55 win over HPU during a visit to the North Shore. The 'Bows return later this week with the North Shore Classic.
