Rainbow Roundup Jan. 31, 2022

"Rainbow Roundup" is a weekly video series hosted by H-TV's Cheyenne Sibley, recapping the week of UH Athletics news with highlights and sound bites.

An incredible week with so many storylines, including head Timmy Chang being formally introduced as the new head coach of the Rainbow Warriors football team.
  • Men's basketball is on a roll knocking off CSUN and defending conference champions UC Santa Barbara in a nail-bitter for a seven-game win streak.
  • Timmy Chang addresses fans and the media as the newly appointed head coach.
  • After dropping the first game of the week against UC Santa Barbara, women's basketball took care of business on the road at CSUN. Daejah Phillips continues to be a force off the bench, dropping digits points in five straight games.
  • Men's volleyball suffered their first loss as Ball State swept them on Saturday. Warrior Ball missed four starters and has a chance at redemption tonight in a rematch against the Cardinals in Muncie, Indiana.
  • Eventful start to the season for Water Polo as they went 3-1 in the Michigan Invitational.
  • For the first time since late November, UH swim and dive competed as a team in Las Vegas with a double dual match against UNLV and Wyoming. The 'Bows came away with multiple first-place finishes, as the men's team beat Wyoming while the women tied. But each dropped their matches with Wyoming.
  • It was a big weekend for Rainbow Warrior tennis as they went 3-0, picking up wins against UC Riverside, Weber State, and New Mexico State.
