HONOLULU – The top-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team used 20 players in a straight-set victory over Edward Waters Sunday at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. Set scores were 25-10, 25-7, 25-12.
The Rainbow Warriors (4-0) remained perfect on the year after a pair of wins over Edward Waters, a Division II school from Jacksonville, Fla., who was making its intercollegiate debut. The first-year program dropped all six sets to the defending national champions.
As a team, Hawai'i committed only three hitting errors and set a new single-match attack percentage record of .688. UH also served 14 aces, which is a new mark in the rally-scoring era. Setter
Jakob Thelle increased his season total to 18 aces in 11 sets played with a team-high four on Sunday.

'Eleu Choy, all of whom appeared for the first time this season. Opposite
Alaka'i Todd had three kills, two aces and three blocks in the final two sets. Outside hitter Kāna'i Akana posted a team-high five kills in two sets.
UH also combined for 10 team blocks and held the Tigers to .043 hitting. Evens Edouard led EWU (0-2) with a match-high nine kills.
The Warriors will host their alumni match, Friday, Jan. 21 at SimpliFi Arena.
