SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team never got going offensively against San Diego on Friday, falling in straight sets (13-25, 17-25, 19-25).

Brooke Van Sickle led the Rainbow Wahine (2-3) in kills, but for the first time this season, failed to record double-digit kills.
Offensively the 'Bows struggled, tallying just four kills in the first set, seven in the second and 12 in the third, for 23 total kills in the match, a season-low. The Toreros on the other hand had 16 kills in each of the first two sets and 17 in the third set, hitting .272 for the match.
Hawai'i out-blocked San Diego (2-1), 10-5, but the Toreros turned defense into offense, digging 53 UH attacks and turning those digs into 25 kills.
In the first set, USD went on runs of eight and six to help open up a 19-4 lead. Katie Lukes ended the first set with her sixth kill of the first set.
The second set saw eight ties and three lead changes before San Diego took a 15-14 lead and never looked back. Scoring 11 of the last 14 points to take the set.

Amber Igiede cut the deficit to 13-10, but the Toreros never let the 'Bows get closer, finishing the set and match 25-19.
The Rainbow Wahine will face #19 Utah at 3 p.m. HT on Saturday in Salt Lake City to close out the Utah Classic tournament.
