HONOLULU, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team made it a perfect two for two against UC Riverside with a 6-1 victory, Tuesday in a nonconference match at the UH Tennis Complex. In the two matches against the Highlanders, the Rainbow Warriors only dropped two sets.
 
UH (2-0) showed up early against the Highlanders by sweeping the three doubles matches, with brothers Lucas Labrunie and Axel Labrunie finishing first on the No. 1 court by defeating UCR's Gilbert Chung and Joshua Roth, 6-2. Tristan Martins and Simao Telo Alves clinched the doubles point, winning on the No. 3 court against UCR's brother duo of Jayson Blando and Michael Blando, 6-4. In a highly contested match, Blaz Seric and Andre Ilagan needed a tiebreak to defeat Antreas Djakouris and Nolan McCraig at No. 2 court, 7-6 (5).
 
The 'Bows racked up more wins in singles as 111^th-ranked Ilagan clinching the match on the No. 1 court against Djakouris, 6-3, 6-1. Telo Alves finished first with a clear win against Michael Blando on the No. 5 court, 6-2, 6-1. Likewise, Seric finished second at No. 3 by sailing past Roth, 6-1, 6-3. After Ilagan's match-clinching win, Lucas Labrunie finished on Court 2 after persevering through the first set against Chung, securing the win at 7-6 (1), 6-2. 
 
Axel Labrunie followed by outplaying McCraig in the second set on court No. 4, 6-4, 7-5. At Court 6, Martins fell in a three-set showdown to Jayson Blando, 7-5, 6-7 (3), 10-8.
 
The Rainbow Warriors will make their first road trip of the season with a pair of conference matches against Cal Poly Friday, March 26, and UC Santa Barbara Sunday, March 28.
