For the second consecutive year, the University of Hawai'i men's golf team opens its season with the Husky Invitational in Sammamish, Wash. The tournament runs Monday, Sept. 16 and Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash.

Ronn Miyashiro's 22
ndat the helm of the Rainbow Warriors. This year's squad returns seven letterwinners including junior
Justin Arcano, who has led the team in scoring average the past two years. Last season, the Wailuku, Maui native averaged 74.4 strokes per round and posted two Top 10 finishes to earn honorable mention all-Big West honors.
Miyashiro is currently the third-most tenured head coach at UH behind sailing coach
Andy Johnson and softball coach
Bob Coolen. He welcomes two newcomers to the team, both from Japan –
Kanata Irei and
Kotaro Murata. Irei is a transfer from St. Leo University in Florida while Murata comes to UH as one of the program's highest ranked junior golfers.
Also returning are seniors
Trevor Hirata and
Nick Nelson, juniors
Matt Lloyd,
Justin Ngan, and
Cole Yoshida and sophomore
AJ Teraoka. Ngan competed in all 11 tournaments a season ago with a 75.1 average and was the team's top finisher in last year's Husky Invitational with a 232 total and tie for 43
rdplace. Arcano, Hirata, Yoshida and Teraoka also competed in last year's Husky Invite, which UH finished in 12
thplace.
In conjunction with the Husky Invitational, an individual 54-hole tournament will be held simultaneously at the nearby McCormick Woods Golf Course.
