SPRINGVILLE, Utah – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team is tied for 12
thplace following the first two rounds of the season-opening Hobble Creek Fall Classic, Monday at the Hobble Creek Golf Course.
The Rainbow Wahine carded rounds of 309 and 299 for a 608 total and is tied with Northern Colorado. Northern Arizona leads the field at 579, six strokes ahead of Utah Valley (585) followed by New Mexico State (586), Cal State Fullerton (587) and Cal Poly (588).
UH's top individual is sophomore
Haruka Shintani at 9-over 151 (77-74) and is tied for 40
thplace. One stroke back are junior
Sahara Washington (75-77) and senior
Megan Ratcliffe (76-76).
Junior
Tyra Tonkham carded the low round of the day for the Rainbow Wahine with a 1-over 72 in Round 2 and is tied for 52
ndat 153 (81-72). Rounding out the UH contingent is junior senior
Malia Ebersberger, who shot 173 (87-86).
California Baptist Jocelyn Chee is a top the leaderboard at 2-under 140 after consecutive rounds of 70 and holds a one-stroke lead over Utah Valley's Nathalie Irlbacher (141).
The third and final round is scheduled for Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. MT shotgun start.
