LIHUE, Kaua'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team sits in sixth place after the first two rounds of the Big West Championship, Monday at the Wailua Golf Course. The tournament concludes on Tuesday with the third and final round.
The host seventh-seeded Rainbow Warriors carded rounds of 298 and 301 for a 599 total. Defending champion UC Irvine holds the lead in the team standings at 586, three strokes ahead of Long Beach State (589). UC Davis (591) is third followed by top-seeded Cal State Fullerton (592), UH, CSUN (600), UC Riverside (606), and Cal Poly (607)

Justin Arcano and
Matt Lloyd are tied for eighth in the individual standings at 2-over 146. Arcano posted rounds of 74 and 72 while Lloyd shot 3-under 69 and 77.

UCSB's Zach Smith holds the first day lead at 2-under 142, one shot clear of CSU Fullerton's Matt Wilson and UC Irvine's Matt Gunson.
UH is hosting the conference championships in the 50
thstate for the first time since 2002 and looking for its best finish at the Big West Championship since placing sixth in back-to-back years in 2013 & '14.
The tournament is being held at the Wailua Golf Course, which recently has played hosts to UH's John A. Burns Intercollegiate.
Wednesday's final round is scheduled to begin at 7:20 a.m.
