IRVINE, Calif. – University of Hawai'i beach volleyball players Ari Homayun and Julia Scoles claimed the Big West Pairs Team of the Week for the third time this year after going a perfect 5-0 and helping lift the Rainbow Wahine to the First Foundation Queen's Cup last weekend.
 
Among the five wins was a pair over No. 14 Loyola Marymount that helped UH squeeze past the Lions, 3-2, including a win in the title match. Meanwhile, four of the pair's five wins over the weekend came in straight sets. Scoles was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, while Homayun won the Aloha Spirit Award. The pair is now a team-best 25-5 on the season and have won 12 of its last 13 matches
 
The No. 6 Rainbow Wahine will host its Alumnae Salute on Saturday, April 20 at 1 p.m. at the Ching Complex before heading to Zuma Beach in Malibu, Calif., for the 2019 Big West Tournament, April 26-27.
