DAVIS, CALIF.—The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team dropped its second consecutive game with a 72-46 loss to Big West Conference front-runner UC Davis on Saturday afternoon at the Pavilion.

The Rainbow Wahine (11-15, 7-6) remain the No. 5 spot of the conference standings with three games remaining on the regular season schedule. The Aggies (19-6, 11-1) have won 10 consecutive games since dropping its only conference game of the season to UH back on Jan. 12.

A slow offensive start by the 'Bows matched with a hot shooting start by the Aggies put them in an early hole. UCD the conference leader in field goal percentage matched their average of 44 percent in the first 20 minutes but hit 8-of-11 from beyond the arc. After the first two frames, UH was looking at a 34-17 deficit.

Momentum swung in the 'Bows favor to start the second half with a 12-3 run cutting the Aggies' lead to single digits twice. UCD went back to the same strategy from the first half and found success with the three-ball, adding to their lead till the final buzzer. The Aggies finished the day by going 13-for-21 from three-point land for 62 percent.

Senior guard
Tia Kanoa led the squad with team-highs in two separate categories at nine points and three assists. Freshman forward
Myrrah Joseph match Kanoa's production in the scoring column with nine points. Senior forward
Lahni Salanoa added eight points and a team-high eight rebounds.

As a team, UH bounced back from the field shooting 55 percent from the floor in the second half, and 43 percent for the game. The 'Bows outrebounded the Aggies 30-25, but it marked the fourth consecutive game of UH committing over 20 turnovers with 21.

The Bows will return to the island of O'ahu one last time as they'll host Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, Mar. 2 at 3 p.m. HT. UH dropped its previous head-to-head on the road to the Titans, 72-68 in the opening game of conference play on Jan. 5. Following the game, UH will honor its four seniors in
Rachel Odumu,
Leah Salanoa,
Lahni Salanoa, and Kanoa with a special ceremony. After the ceremony concludes, the Stan Sheriff Center will be emptied and reopened for the men's basketball game, scheduled to tip at 8:00 p.m. HT.
