HONOLULU – The second-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team tied a program-record with its 10^thconsecutive straight-set win with a sweep of Lincoln Memorial Sunday in the finale of a two-match, non-conference series at the Stan Sheriff Center. Set scores were 25-9, 25-17, 27-25.
 
The Rainbow Warriors (10-0), which easily won Friday's series opener in only 82 minutes, needed to rally late in Set 3 to keep their consecutive streak intact. UH has won all 30 sets played this season in easily its most dominant start in program history. 
 
After setting a new program record with a .667 hitting percentage on Friday, UH hit .441 in the match with six players recording at least five kills. Senior Brett Rosenmeier and freshman Filip Humler each had nine kills and hit .375 to lead the Warriors. Rosenmeier also added five digs and two blocks while Humler had six digs and two stuffs. 
 
The Railsplitters (7-6) put up a valiant effort despite playing without five starters. LMU hit .165 for the match with Jacob Titus and Evan Cory each leading the way with eight kills.  
 
Hawai'i was perfect on its first five kill attempts for a 6-1 lead in Set 1. The Warriors dominated the set, hitting .607 and their defense allowed only four kills while recording 13 digs and 3.5 blocks.
 
With almost a brand new lineup in Set 2, the Warriors were tested but never threatened. UH led 18-16 before a line shot by Humler ignited a 6-0 run. James Anastassiades posted three kills down the stretch including on set point.
 
The Railsplitters led early in Set 3 before UH scored four unanswered for a 10-8 lead. LMU tied it at 14 after stuffing Humler's kill attempt. The Railsplitters would lead three times late in the set and had two set points after Humler's hitting error. LMU had three chances for the set but the Warriors erased them all. Stijn van Tilburg re-entered the lineup late and posted the final two kills to end the match. 
 
The Warriors will take the next week off before opening Big West Conference play with a two-match series at UC Irvine, March 1-2 in Irvine, Calif.
