'EWA BEACH, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team finished in 20
th place at the inaugural Hoakalei Country Club Invitational following Wednesday's third and final round.
Senior
Nick Nelson carded even par 72 to finish 228 for the tournament and a tie for 94
th place. For the third consecutive tournament, freshman
Kotaro Murata was the team's top finisher at 227 after a final round 76 that put him a tie for 91
st place.
No. 32-ranked East Tennessee State shot a blistering 273 to capture the team title (835), out-distancing No. 10 Louisville (844) by nine strokes. No. 41 Ole Miss finished third at 845. ETSU's Shiso Go took medalist honors with a 14-under 202 total to finish five strokes ahead of a group of four golfers.
Junior
Justin Ngan shot 73 on Wednesday for a 231 total and 101
st place. Senior
Trevor Hirata also posted his best round of the tourney with a 77 to finish in 110
th place at 238. Junior
Matt Lloyd posted 78 for a 250 total and 112
thplace.
Three other UH golfers competed as individuals – junior

Cole Yoshida (236, 109
th), and sophomore
AJ Teraoka (258, 113
th). Yoshida posted his best round of the tournament with even par 72.
The Warriors will next head to the Valley Island to host the Kā'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational Friday through Sunday at Kā'anapali's Royal Course in West Maui.
