OSAKA, Japan--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (2-1, 1-0 Big West) has traveled on an historic roadtrip during the spring season to play a pair of exhibition matches in Osaka, Japan. The Rainbow Wahine will play a pair of dual matches. On Tuesday, Jan. 29, the 'Bows will take on Himeji University in Himeji, Hyogo, Japan. UH will then conclude their trip playing at Sonoda University in Amagasaki-shi, Hyogo, Japan.
Overall, through the first three weeks of the season, the Rainbow Wahine have a trio of players who have recorded three victories in singles. Junior
Michelle Pits lead the 'Bows with an overall 3-3 record and a 2-1 dual match record playing at No. 4. Fellow junior,
Alzbeta Houbova has an overall record of 3-4 with a 2-0 dual match mark playing at both No. 5 and No. 6. Senior
Maayan Sela also has recorded three singles wins and goes into this week with an overall record of 3-6. Sela is 1-2 in duals all at No. 2.
In doubles, UH's
Nikola Dolakova and Sela have posted a team-high 5-4 record while going 2-1 at No. 2 in dual matches. The Hawai'i duo of Houbova and Pits have a 4-3 overall record and are 2-0 in duals.
