Round 2 ResultsWAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team improved two strokes from Thursday's opening round but fell one spot back to 16
th place Friday at the Amer Ari Invitational at the Waikoloa Kings' Course.
The Rainbow Warriors shot 292 and currently stand at 10-over 586 for the three-day tournament. No. 19 Washington leap-frogged No. 14 USC to take the Round 2 lead at 546, three strokes clear of the Trojans. (549).
UW's Cheng-Tsung Pan, the top-ranked player in the country, holds a two-stroke lead over USC's Rico Hoey. Pan is 14-under 130 after a second consecutive 65.
Senior
Brian Lee is the top UH golfer at even par 144 after firing a 1-under 71 on Friday to tie for 53
rd. Junior
Scotty Yamashita also shot 71 and is 3-over 147 (76-71) and a tie for 71
st.
Sophomore
Pono Tokioka, who shot 69 on Friday, struggled with an 81 for a 6-over 150 total and tie for 87
th. Senior
Ryan Kuroiwa and junior
Justin Chu are tied for 98
th at 154. Kuroiwa coupled his 76 with a 78 while Chu improved 10 strokes with a second round 72.
The tournament concludes on Saturday.
