HONOLULU – McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii presented a check for $15,500 to University of Hawai`i Athletics Director Ben Jay and Associate Athletics Director John McNamara. The money was raised from the “Touchdown Tuesday” promotion, which ran during the 2012 football season.

“We are honored that McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii continues to support UH Athletics,” said Ben Jay, UH athletics director. “This is a wonderful promotion and we appreciate McDonald's providing these funds to UH and offering our fans a great meal deal.”

During the promotion, McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii donated $500 for each touchdown scored by the UH Warriors. By the end of the football season, the Warriors scored 31 touchdowns, which generated $15,500 for the Athletics Department. Fans also benefited from the promotion with a Touchdown Tuesdays Meal, which added a free Quarter Pounder with Cheese sandwich to every Quarter Pounder with Cheese Extra Value Meal® purchased each Tuesday following a UH game, regardless of which team won.

“There is great talent that emerges from the UH Athletics Department,” said Erlinda Rosario, McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii owner and operator. “We are proud to support Hawaii's own and look forward to continuing this partnership with the Warriors and UH Athletics.”

Fans will have yet another exciting promotion to look forward to this year, as McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii will again partner with UH Athletics for the 2013 football season.
