Round 2 Results
PRINCEVILLE, Kaua'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team moved up the leaderboard following the second round of the Warrior-Wave Intercollegiate presented by St. Regis Princeville Resort, Tuesday at the Makai Golf Club. The tournament is co-hosted by UH and Pepperdine.
UH's “A” team remains in 12
th place at 595 (300-295) while the “B” team is in 16
th place at 630 (325-305).
Baylor shot the low round of the day at 8-under 280 and holds a three-stroke lead over UC Irvine (570). East Tennessee State (571) and North Carolina State (571) are tied for third.
Individually, North Carolina State's Albin Choi (7-under 137) leads the tournament by two strokes over his teammate Mitch Sutton and Baylor's Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen after firing a 4-under 68 on Tuesday. Bjerch-Andresen set a course record with a 6-under 66, that included eight birdies.
Junior
Nainoa Calip shot a blistering 3-under on his back nine to finish at even-par for the day and 3-over 147 for the tournament, which is tied for 29
th place. Calip bogeyed Nos. 3, 6 and 7 before going on an 11-hole stretch at 3-under par with birdies at Nos. 11, 14 and 15.
Sophomore
Ryan Kuroiwa shot a steady second round 73 and finished his final 12 holes at even par. He is currently tied for 46
th with teammate
Cory Oride at 6-over 150 for the tournament. Oride, a native of Lihue, Kaua'i, got off to a hot start with birdies at Nos. 1 and 4 but failed to produce another one the rest of the round and finished at 2-over 74.
Junior
David Saka was 2-under on his back nine going into the par-5 18
th before hitting the water on his third shot and settling for triple bogey and a second round 76. He is tied for 57
th at 152. Sophomore
Tommy Yamashita, who shot a 1-over 73 on Monday, struggled to an 80 in his second round and is tied for 63
rd at 153.

Reo Saito (81-70=151), freshman
Scotty Yamashita (81-76=157),
Brian Lee (79-80=159), and freshman
Justin Chu (84-79=163).
Saito rebounded from a first-round 81 to shoot the best round of the day for the Warriors with a 2-under 70 and is tied for 50
th at 151. The Honolulu native posted three birdies and no bogeys over his final 14 holes. Yamashita, a freshman from Honolulu, birdied two of his final three holes to finish his round at 4-over 76.
The inaugural tournament concludes with the third and final round on Wednesday with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
