HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow baseball team (17-8) defeated the Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers (0-11) 10-3 in the first game of a double header at the Les Murakami Stadium Saturday.
Mark Rodrigues (6-1) allowed three runs in 7.0 innings to get the victory while Tim Hoy (0-1) took the loss for UWM.
Landon Hernandez went 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Jonathan Hee added a 2-for-4 game with two runs while Derek DuPree was 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
UWM again jumped out to an early lead, posting two runs in the top of the second. But Hawai`i came right back in the bottom of the inning, scoring four runs, including a RBI-single by Hernandez and a two-run double by DuPree, making it 4-2.
DuPree drove in another run in the fourth, starting another four-run inning, taking UH's lead to 8-2. The Panthers added a run on a solo home run in the sixth before the 'Bows threw in two runs in the bottom of the eighth to make the final 10-3.
The second game of the double header was scheduled for a 4:05 p.m. start.
