RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Hawai`i women's tennis team concluded its six-match road trip through southern California with a 4-3 loss to UC Riverside, Friday, at the Student Recreation Center Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Wahine are still in search of their first dual match victory after falling to 0-10 on the season.

The Highlanders (2-5) captured the doubles point by narrowly winning two of the three matches. The Rainbow Wahine duo of Chloe Bihag and Kana Aikawa picked up the lone UH victory, an 8-5 win over H.R. Espiritu and Yasaman Sakhokorn at the No. 2 court.

In singles action, the teams split the six matches. UCR won at Nos. 1, 3, and 5 to clinch the team victory. The Rainbow Wahine captured the Nos. 2, 4, and 6 courts. Aikawa swept Espiritu, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2, Samanta Cappella outlasted Sakhakorn 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (8) at No. 4 and Julia Sandborn rallied past Bethany Brendon, 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (6) at No. 6.

The Rainbow Wahine return to Honolulu to host a 12-match homestand beginning with Iowa State, March 12.
