BROOMFIELD, Colo. - University of Hawai`i senior
Dale Gammie holds the individual lead at two-under-par while the Rainbow Wahine (306-300=606, +30) are in sixth after the first day of the Heather Farr Memorial at the Omni Interlocken Resort Monday.
Gammie shot back-to-back rounds of 71 and is the only player in the tournament under par after the first day. The Pukalani, Maui, native had three birdies and two bogeys in each of the first two rounds. Xyra Suyetsugu is tied for 13th at six-over-par, followed by freshman Corie Hou (t-39th, +10) and Nancy Shon and Carolina Perez (t-66th, +16).
University of Denver leads the field at 18-over-par. They are followed by a trio of WAC schools, Idaho (+25), San Jose State (+26), Fresno State (+27), and host school Colorado (+27).
Gammie has a two-shot lead over the rest of the field, led by Kayla Morinaga of Portland State (E). Stephanie Sherlock (+1) and Emily Hoeper (+2) of Denver rank third and fourth after day one while Lehua Wise of New Mexico State (+2)is tied for fourth.
