Day Three Results
HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team finished tied for tenth place on Wednesday in the UH Fall Intercollegiate at Kane`ohe Klipper Golf Course. The Warriors fell four spots from yesterday, concluding the tournament with a forty-nine-over-par 913.
Three Warriors shot an eleven-over-par 83 in the final round of the intercollegiate, including Senior Jarett Hamamoto, who tied for 27th overall. After shooting a 76 in round two, Pierre-Henri Soero (T-30th) shot a 78 to finish the tournament. Sophomore Travis Toyama (T-43rd) placed next for UH, and also shot a 83. Last year's individual champion, Cody Wolfenbarger (T-58th) was the only UH golfer to improve on round two's performance, shaving four strokes from his score to finish with a 76. Kyle Walters was the third UH golfer to shoot a 83 on the day and finished tied for 88th.
This is the first year in three years that UH has not won the intercollegiate. New Mexico State, the overall leader after round two, won the tournament, finishing with a seven-over-par score of 871. UNLV finished one stroke behind the Aggies, placing second at 870. San Diego State (+12, 876) finished in third, squeeking by Baylor (+15, 879), while Santa Clara (+30, 894) finished fifth, just one stroke ahead of Cal Poly (+31, 895) and St. Mary's (+31, 895), avoiding a three-way tie. After a four-hole playoff, New Mexico State's Robert Goff (-2) won the individual championship, beating out three other golfers.
