Warriors Slip Down To Sixth After Two Rounds

Day Two Results

HONOLULU-The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team slipped down to sixth place after shooting a twelve-over-par 300 on Tuesday, in the UH Fall Intercollegiate at Kane`ohe Klipper Golf Course. The Warriors (seventeen-over-par) trail the leader New Mexico State (six-under-par), by 23 strokes going into the final round.

UH golfer Jarett Hamamoto currently tied for 4th, still leads the team, staying consistent after shooting a 71 (one-under-par) again on Tuesday. Sophomore golfer Travis Toyama (T-21st) bested his score yesterday, after shooting a 73. Teammate Pierre-Henri Soero (T-26th) shot a four-over-par 76, and closely follows Toyama overall by one point (148). Juniors Cody Wolfenbarger (T-67th) and Kyle Walters (T-74th) both shot 80 at the end of the second round on Tuesday.

Overall leader New Mexico State, is currently six-under-par (570), four strokes ahead of 2nd place UNLV (574). Baylor (+3, 579), San Diego State (+9, 585), and Santa Clara (+13, 589) round off the top five. UNLV's C.J. Gatto is the individual leader with a -6. San Diego State's Andrew Scott and Baylor's Ryan Baca are both tied for 2nd at -3.

The intercollegiate concludes tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 9, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
