Anderson-Mitterling Finishes Sixth At ICSA Singlehanded Nationals

HONOLULU -- Rainbow Wahine sailor Tinja Anderson-Mitterling finished in sixth place at the ICSA/Vanguard Women's Singlehanded Nationals at Ke`ehi Lagoon. Anderson-Mitterling finishing the event with a total score of 118 points, 64 points behind the pace.

A total of 16 races were completed over the two-day event. The sophomore sailor got in a rhythm during the latter half of the event with impressive back-to-back finishes, attaining first-place in the twelfth race and second-place in the thirteenth race among a field of 16 sailors. The women's overall winner was Molly Carapiet of Yale, totaling just 54 points, including three first-place finishes, and 14 top-5 performances. Yesterday's leader, Paige Railey of South Florida, finished in second-place, just 8 points short of Carapiet. Yale teammate, Emily Hill (101), narrowly beat-out Navy's Charlotte Hill (103) for third-place.

Georgetown's Andrew Campbell, continued his dominance of the field, finishing in first-place with a total score of 64, 17 points ahead of Harvard sailor Clay Johnson. Andrew is the first person to win three singlehanded championships.Chris Browning of King's Point rounded off the top-3, finishing with a total score of 86.
