CASCADE LOCKS, Ore. - The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow sailing team is currently in first at the International Collegiate Sailing Association’s North American Dinghy National Championships today, the second day of the regatta, on the Columbia River in Cascade Locks, Ore. The Rainbow’s accumulated 122 points along the way to achieving first.
Hawai‘i’s A division, with Bryan Lake at the helm and Jennifer Warnock as crew totaled 67 points while sitting atop the A division. Joey Pasquali, Matt Stine, Carly Allen, Cassandra Harris and Jeffrey Boyd sailed in the B division, totaling 55 points for a first place finish in the B division. Hawai‘i’s B division also boast an overall regatta low with its 55 points.
Hawai‘i’s holds a 34 point lead in front of second place Georgetown, 156, with St. Mary’s College, 162, Dartmouth, 170, Southern Cal, 179, Hobart/William Smith, 181, and USMMA-Kings Point, 189, rounding out the top seven. Georgetown’s second place and USMMA-Kings Point’s seventh place are only seperated by 33 points.
The regatta continues tomorrow, June 4, with its final day of ICSA Dinghy National Championships and final day of overall ICSA National Championships.
