Hawaii Falls to UCLA Once Again

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Hawai`i women's water polo suffered a 12-5 loss to No. 2 UCLA. This marks the Rainbow Wahine's sixteenth straight loss to the Bruins. The No. 9 Wahine drop to 1-1 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and 2-4 overall.

The Bruins got it going on early in the first quarter scoring on UCLA's first possession. With 2:18 remaining in the first, UCLA scored one more, but Hawai`i answered back scoring a goal of their own before the quarter ended. In the second quarter with the score at 3-1, Hawai`i scored another goal to get UH within one. Despite their efforts, the Wahine fell behind 6-2, by the end of the second quarter. In the fourth quarter the Bruins held the Wahine to just one goal, taking the 12-5 win.
The Rainbow Wahine return to action in 2 weeks, taking on UC Santa Barbara on the road, Mar. 7, and participating in the UC Santa Barbara Tournament from Mar. 8-9.
