Diepraam Wins WAC's Monthly Award

DENVER – Hawai‘i’s Jarrod Diepraam was named November’s Western Athletic Conference men’s tennis player of the month for his performance against the third-ranked Stanford Cardinal last week.

Diepraam, a junior from Johannesburg, South Africa, defeated Stanford’s Chris Rasmussen, 6-4, 4-6, (10-8) at No. 4 singles. Diepraam was one of only two UH players to win their matches in Stanford’s 5-2 victory, Nov. 28, in Kapalua, Maui.

Diepraam finished with a 10-15 record last season, playing mainly at No. 6 singles. In doubles action, he partnered with Ryan Sceats for a 12-11 record at No. 2 doubles.

The Stanford match was UH’s only team competition of the fall. The Rainbow Warriors return to the court during the first week of January when they host, Texas, Rice, and William & Mary in Waikaloa, Hawai‘i.
