HONOLULU - University of Hawai`i Associate Women's Volleyball Coach
Charlie Wade will remain with the Rainbow Wahine volleyball program. He was interviewed by Fresno State for its vacant head women's volleyball coaching position.
"First, I'd like to thank Scott Johnson and Desiree Reed-Francois of Fresno State for their interest in me," Wade said. "I was very impressed with their commitment to their women's volleyball program and flattered with their confidence in my coaching ability. But I decided that what's best for me and my family is to remain a part of the Rainbow Wahine volleyball program."
Wade recently finished his 10th year with the UH women's volleyball program in 2004, helping guide the program to its third-best record at 30-1.
He filled in as an interim head coach for three of UH's wins in 2004 when Dave Shoji, Hawai`i head coach, missed due to family matters.
