Jeff Hall enters his second season as the associate coach of the women’s indoor volleyball program. He also is the head coach of the beach volleyball program after having spending four seasons as an assistant for Charlie Wade’s UH men’s volleyball program. Last season, Hall helped the Rainbow Wahine volleyball team advance to the NCAA Regional Finals and a 29-2 overall record and a perfect 16-0 mark in the Big West.

In the spring of 2016, as the second-year head coach of beach volleyball, Hall was named Big West Coach of the Year after leading the Rainbow Wahine to a 16-8 finish and the inaugural Big West title. The ‘Bows finished fourth in the inaugural NCAA Beach Volleyball Championships held at Gulf Shores, Ala. Hall has recorded a 36-13 overall record in beach volleyball.

Hall joined the men’s squad in 2011 and moved into the associate coach role the following year. His duties included recruiting, team scouting and offensive game planning, while working with the setters. Hall helped the Rainbow Warriors qualify for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament twice (2011 and ‘13) and began the 2015 season assisting UH to a runner-up finish at the 2015 Outrigger Resorts Invitational.

Considered one of the top players in University of the Pacific (Stockton, Calif.) men's volleyball history, Hall was twice named Pacific’s named Offensive Player of the Year. In his senior season, he averaged 5.1 kills and 1.18 blocks per set in 1994. That season, Hall racked up 437 kills with 151 errors in 834 attacks for a .343 hitting percentage. He also tallied 22 solo blocks and 78 block assists for a total of 100 total blocks in his final season as a Tigers. After earning his bachelor’s degree of fine arts in graphic design in 1999, he was selected to the United States Olympic Festival during the summers of 1993 and ‘94.

Prior to Pacific, Hall played at Orange Coast Junior College, where he earned first-team all-Orange Empire Conference honors. He also attended and played at Park College where he was named Offensive Player of the Year, as well as an All-American at the A.A.U. Junior Nationals competition.

Following his collegiate career, Hall played professionally on the AVP tour for four seasons and has spent more than 20 years playing and coaching on the beach. He continues to play at the Outrigger Canoe Club and Queen’s Beach at least twice a week.

Hall came to UH from his alma mater, the University of the Pacific, where he spent three seasons (2007-09) as assistant coach for the men’s program. At UOP, Hall was the top assistant whose main duties included coaching the attackers, scouting and recruiting coordinator, and academic progress coordinator.

Prior to coaching at Pacific, Hall spent three years with the UC San Diego men’s and women’s volleyball teams from 2004-07. His primary duties with the women included coaching the middle blockers while serving as recruiting coordinator and first assistant with the men. He helped the Tritons women’s team advance to the NCAA Division II quarterfinals in 2004.

Hall also was the first assistant at Grossmont College for five seasons from 2000-04, where his teams finished fifth in the state twice. A native of St. Paul, Minn., he also coached at Mission Bay High School for three years and was the head coach of the top-ranked Seaside 18’s club team in Del Mar for seven seasons. His club won the gold medal at the Junior Olympics in Minneapolis in 2006 while also producing seven Top 10 finishes nationally, including five in the Top 5.

Hall resides in Manoa with his two daughters, Dylan Makela and Devon Hana.
