Former Rainbow Wahine Tasha Monroe serves as the team's student assistant during the 2005-2006 season. Monroe completed a standout two-year career at UH last season by competing in her second NCAA West Regional.
Monroe, Whose specialty was sprints, qualified for the NCAA Regional as a junior in the long jump. Last season, in addition to the long jump, Monore qualified for the 200m and 400m events. At the regional, the Markham, ONtario native picked the 400m, in which she is the school's record holder. Monroe finished seventh in the finals, with a time of 54.81 set at the Occidental Invitational.
Before UH, Monroe attended York University in Toronto from 2000-03. She was named the school's women's track athlete of the year in 2003 and women's rookie of the year in 2001. monroe graduated from Michael McGivney Catholic Academy in 1999.
