Sabrina Mendoza completed her third season as an assistant coach for the Hawai'i track & field program in 2024-25 and is primarily in charge of working with the Rainbow Wahine throwers. Mendoza was previously a volunteer assistant coach at UH from 2018-21 following a successful four-year career in a Rainbow Wahine uniform.

COACHING HIGHLIGHTS

• Has led UH to three straight top four finishes at both the MPSF and Big West Championships in her first three seasons on staff.
• Hawai'i finished fourth at both the MPSF indoor and Big West outdoor championships in 2025.
• Coached Lilian Turban to a Big West title in the javelin in 2025 and Samaria Vital to a bronze medla in the discus.
• Also helped Turban qualify for the NCAA First Round in the javelin.
• Helped guide the Rainbow Wahine to their best-ever indoor conference championship finish in 2024, coming in second at the MPSF Championships.
• Guided UH to its third consecutive top-three conference finish outdoors at the 2024 Big West Championships, coming in third.
• Coached discus thrower Hallee Mohr to second-team All-America honors outdoors following an 11th-place finish at the 2024 NCAA Championships.
• Mohr also qualified for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials, becoming the first UH athlete to compete at the event since 2008.
• Led a pair of UH throwers to Big West titles (Mohr - Discus, Montserrat Montanes i Arbo - Hammer) while coaching another to a bronze medal (Jessica Mackenzie - Javelin).
• Also helped Mohr break a 17-year old program record in the discus with a toss of 58.25m at the 2024 Big West Championships.
• Helped lead the Rainbow Wahine outdoor squad to a third-place finish in her first season back on staff at the 2023 Big West Championship.
• Led Mohr to an NCAA West Preliminary Round appearance in the discus in 2023.
• Guided Montanes i Arbo to a 2023 Big West title in the hammer throw following a toss of 190-6.
• The Rainbow Wahine throwers put up 35 points at the 2023 Big West Championships.
• Helped the UH throwers put up four new program top-10 throws marks outdoors and three new UH top 10 marks indoors in 2023.
