Andrea Bowman joined the University of Hawai'i women’s track and field staff as a volunteer assistant in 2019. A Portland, Ore. native, Bowman graduated from Portland State University in 1984. As an accomplished track and field coach and certified strength and conditioning specialist, she’s had the privilege of working with multiple elite athletes and coaches both domestically and internationally.

COACHING HIGHLIGHTS

  • Recognized as the 2010 Virginia Milestat T&F Coach of the Year.
  • Coached the 2010 Junior National long jump champion.
  • Coached the 2010 IAAF Junior World 5th place long jumper.
  • Pioneered the sprint/hurdle program at the University of North Florida (1987).
  • Coached an All-American, 10 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) champions, 11 scholar athletes, 22 All-Conference athletes, 10 All-East athletes, and multiple CAA champions at the College of William & Mary.
  • Coached two-time CCCAA decathlete champion, multiple All-State CCCAA athletes, and numerous OEC champions at Orange Coast College.
  • Coached the 2010 Virginia State Championship team, several individual champions and All-State athletes, an Olympian, and six future NFL players during her tenure as a high school track and field coach.
  • Oregon Coach of the Year (1983).
