Aaron Mahaney

Aaron Thomas Mahaney enters his second season with the University of Hawai`i's swimming and diving program and first as an assitant coach. Last season, he was a graduate assistant (G.A.).

He comes from Easton, Pa., where he coached for the Atlantis Aquatic Club. He has also coached for the University of Georgia Intramural Club swim team in 2005. He was an assistant coach at Lafayette College from 2002-04 and a volunteer assistant at Michigan State for a year prior to that.

Mahaney graduated from Michigan State in December 2002 with a B.S. in kinesiology, where he was a member of the varsity swim team from 1998-2002. He received the MSU Freshman of the Year award and finished his collegiate career earning the team's Most Valuable Performer distinction.

Mahaney swam in both the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Trials where he placed 42nd and 18th in the butterfly, respectively.
