Shawn McCauley is in his second year as volunteer assistant for the Rainbow Warrior golf program in 2013-14.
McCauley is currently a PGA Teaching Professional at Pearl Country Club as well as active in the Aloha Section PGA. He has served on the Board of Directors for the First Tee of Hawai‘i and is presently a member of various committees – Tournament, Growth of the Game, Education and Member/Apprentice – of the Aloha Section PGA, where he has also served as a tournament director.
From 2009-11, he was on the PGA National President’s Council on Growth of the Game. He is also a rules official for the Hawai‘i State Junior Golf and O‘ahu Junior Golf associations.
McCauley attended Florida State for one year before turning pro in 2001. He won four professional tournaments playing on the Nationwide, Hooters, Gateway, and Emerald Coast tours. A Class A Professional with PGA of America since 2009, he earned honorable mention honors in 2011 as a U.S. Kids’ Top 50 Instructor.
A native of Pensacola, Fla., he was formerly the head pro at TPC Heron Bay in Coral Springs, Fla., and was the assistant pro at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. In addition, he was a PGA intern at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Ga., and a PGA Teaching Pro at Golftec Miami before moving to Hawai‘i, where he was the regional manager at Golftec Honolulu.
McCauley earned a bachelor’s degree in professional golf management from Florida State and a master’s degree in business management from Corllins University. He is currently pursuing a PGA Certified Professional Program for Instruction in route to become a PGA Master Professional. He is also a member of the Golf Coaches’ Association of America.
