2022-23 HAWAI‘I SAILING 

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

• The coed team captured three regattas and finished in the top three in all but two of their nine regattas on the season. 

• UH beat out nearly a dozen other schools to capture the Peter Wenner Rainbow Invite for the seventh straight time on their home waters of Keehi Lagoon. 

• In an unprecedented weekend in mid-March, the University of Hawaii coed sailing program entered two separate regattas and captured both of them.

• The Rainbows took home the championship trophy of the prestigious Port of Los Angeles Harbor Cup in Southern California, while also claiming first place at the St. Francis Invitational in Northern California.

• The Rainbow Wahine sailors finished runner up at the PCCSC Championship to earn an automatic berth to  the ICSA National Championship in New York. 

• It marked the second straight appearance and 20th overall nationals appearance for the Rainbow Wahine who finished 14th in the Eastern Semifinals.

• Seven sailors earned all-PCCSC honors including Owen Lahr (skipper), Bastien Rasse (skipper), Vivian Bonsager (skipper), Mercy Tangredi (skipper), Frances Tarpey-Schwed (crew), Sophia Schaeffer (crew) and Erik Anderson (Rookie of the Year).
