SERIES INFORMATION
- Nevada leads the series 14-9 and has now won seven of the last eight meetings, including six of seven since UH joined the Mountain West.
- Nevada has won in three of its last four trips to Honolulu.
- Seven of the last eight meetings have been decided by double-digits.
STREAKS/TRENDS
- After winning its first four home games, UH suffered its first loss at Aloha Stadium this year.
- It was also UH’s first Mountain West loss this season after a program-best 3-0 start.
- John Ursua has caught at least one pass in 26 straight games.
TEAM NOTES
- UH failed to on its first four fourth-down attempts and went 1-of-5 on the night. UH was stopped on downs twice in the red zone during the third quarter.
- UH averaged 48.0 points per game and 507.0 yards of offense in its first three home games, but has averaged just 19.0 points and 337.5 yards in its last two home contests.
- UH lost despite a season-high three takeaways, all on fumble recoveries, including two off of muffed punt returns by Nevada.
- This was the third match-up for UH head coach Nick Rolovich against the team he previously served as offensive coordinator. Rolovich is now 1-2 vs. Nevada as UH head coach.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- John Ursua finished with seven receptions for 123 yards and one touchdown. It marked his sixth 100-yard game this season and the 11th of his career.
- Ursua also surpassed 1,000 receiving yards on the season on UH’s first offensive series. He now has 1,013 receiving yards on the year, becoming the 13th player in UH history to hit 1,000 yards in a season.
- Ursua scored on a 70-yard connection on the final play of the first quarter. It was his second touchdown this year of at least 70 yards. He also had an 80-yard touchdown vs. Army.
- Ursua leads the team with 15 touchdowns this year (14 receiving, 1 rushing).
- Ursua has scored at least one touchdown in 13 of his last 15 games played.
- Cole McDonald finished with 259 yards passing and three scoring strikes. It was the sixth time in eight games played this year that he threw for at least three touchdowns.
- The sophomore has 29 touchdowns to just three interceptions on the season.
- Cedric Bryd caught the first touchdown of the game giving him eight on the season. He has scored in six of nine games this season.
- Senior receiver Dakota Torres got his first start of the season. He did not record any stats.
- Senior receiver Devan Stubblefield got his second start of the season and finished with a season-high four catches for 40 yards.
- Freshman quarterback Chevan Cordeiro played in his second game this year, appearing in two series. He ran the ball three times for 19 yards and went incomplete on his only attempt of the game.
- Senior running back Melvin Davis made his first appearance since 2015, carrying the ball once for three yards on UH’s final offensive series.
