The Hawai‘i Athletics Department has three practice facilities for court sports (basketball and volleyball). Gym 1 and Gym 2 are located on the on the mauka side of the Athletics Complex. Gym 1, which is on the first floor, can be split into two full basketball courts or three volleyball courts. Gym 2, located on the second floor, can also be split into two basketball or three volleyball courts with two additional baskets installed in the middle. Klum Gym, which is named for former UH football and men's basketball coach Otto "Proc" Klum (1921-39), can be found between Gym 1 and the Lower Campus Parking Structure. Klum Gym served as the home to the basketball and volleyball teams until 1994 when the Stan Sheriff Center was built.
