Women's Basketball Takes On Hawai‘i Pacific in Exhibition

HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team will play host to Hawai'i Pacific University at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center on Tuesday, Oct. 28 in its final exhibition game leading into the regular season. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and admission is free.
 
Tuesday's game comes a week after the Rainbow Wahine rolled past Chaminade 90-33 in their first Our Team, Hawai'i's Team exhibition contest. They'll open the regular-season on Nov. 4 against Portland State.
 
The 'Bows enter the season coming off a second consecutive Big West regular-season title and a fourth consecutive postseason appearance and as the favorite in the conference's preseason coaches' poll.

  'BOWS NOTES
  • A new-look UH rotation shot 48.6% from the field and hit 11 3-pointers in the 'Bows' first exhibition against Chaminade.
  • Five Rainbow Wahine players scored in double figures against the Silverswords led by sophomore Kira-May Filemu, who hit four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points.
  • Senior forward Saniyah Neverson scored 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field and freshman guard Bailey Flavell went 5-for-7 to add 11 points in their debuts in Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
  • Sophomores Rebecca Moors and Danijela Kujovic both hit two 3-pointers and contributed 14 and 10 points, respectively. 
  • Freshman guards Teyahna Bond and Keiara Curtis combined for 11 assists with no turnovers in the win.
  • UH and HPU last met in an exhibition on Nov. 1, 2022 with the Rainbow Wahine winning 73-49.
  • The Rainbow Wahine enter the 2025-26 season with a roster of seven returnees and eight newcomers and were voted first in the Big West Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • The 15-player roster includes 11 international student-athletes; six from Australia, three from New Zealand, and one each from Canada and Italy.
  • The returnees are led by senior forward Imani Perez and sophomore center Ritorya Tamilo, who were voted to this season's All-Big West Preseason Coaches Team.
  • Laura Beeman heads into her 14th season as head coach after earning her second consecutive Big West Coach of the Year award and the fourth of her UH career.
