HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Athletics Department has announced Isaac Daggett of Colorado Springs as the winner of its first-ever fan design contest. With over 125 submissions from more than 20 states and five countries, Daggett's "sUHrf City" design stood out among the rest.
Daggett, who described himself as "relatively new to graphic design," said of the contest, "I'm thrilled to have my jersey design selected and look forward to seeing my dream of creating a real jersey become a reality for the Rainbow Wahine."
With some of the world's best surf breaks located just minutes from the UH Manoa campus, surfing will serve as the theme for "Beeman's Bigger Bash" on Jan. 25, 2025. The night's festivities will include an attempt to break the women's basketball attendance record, highlighted by a jersey auction featuring the "sUHrf City" design.
"I read Uni-watch and have always appreciated Hawai'i Athletics. I am definitely a loyal fan now," said Daggett.
Eric Mathews, Director of Fan Engagement and Marketing, said, "Beeman's Bigger Bash is set to be one of the best nights of the year. With our 'sUHrf City' jersey selected, we're working hard to build on this exciting theme."
